Jason Statham featured in Crank before he took on the recurring role of Lee Christmas in the Expendables series. Although it has been said that Johnny Knoxville from Jackass was originally intended to play the lead part in this action movie, it’s probably for the best that Statham was finally chosen to throw down and do his thing. Anyone looking for a major adrenaline rush without having to leave their living room can watch this 2006 action thriller, which is available to stream on Netflix.
Jason Statham’s Crank is currently available on Netflix to view.
The “zero hour” cliche, which has appeared in numerous other film franchises before Crank, gets a breath of fresh air in one of those films. This story technique often entails a race against time to defuse a bomb, but Crank gives the plot element a fresh twist by making Jason Statham the ticking time bomb that needs to be defused.
Jason Statham as Chev Chelios, a kill guy for an organized crime group, in the movie Crank. An upcoming criminal named Ricky Verona works with Carlito, the boss of Chelios, to kill Chelios so Kim’s group won’t retaliate after being entrusted with killing mafia lord Don Kim.
Crank is very similar to the film Speed. But in this movie, Jason Statham plays the bus and Chelios is the bomb.

Verona and his henchmen enter Chelios’ apartment while he is sleeping and inject him with a counterfeit Chinese medicine that slows the flow of adrenaline, causing his heart to cease beating and killing him. Crank does not let up from this point on, as we see Jason Statham go full-on Jason Statham as he continues to put himself in heightened scenarios to keep his adrenaline flowing while desperately hunting for a cure.
Chelios is on the warpath to cure his condition and wreak revenge on Carlito, Verona, and their goons, putting himself at risk by starting fights with police officers, having sex in public, and abusing stimulants.
