Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, have divorced after 27 years of marriage. They have two adopted children, Oscar (23), and Ava (18).
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced in a joint statement, “We have been blessed to share almost three decades as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.” Our path has changed, and we have decided to part to pursue our individual growth. Our family has always been and will always be our top focus. With thanks, love, and kindness, we embark on the next chapter. We appreciate your consideration for our privacy while our family navigates this adjustment in all of our lives.”
It was signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” with the following note at the end: “This is the only statement either of us will make.”
How They Met?
Hugh Jackman, 54, and Deborah, 67, met in 1995 on the set of the Australian television show Correlli. It was love at first sight, according to Jackman. “I knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives,” he told a magazine.

Despite having a crush on the actress, Jackman refrained from acting on his sentiments since it would be “unprofessional and embarrassing.” “Deb and I were already best friends, and I realized I’ve got a crush on my leading lady,” he told People. This is what you do not do. It’s unprofessional and humiliating.”
Wedding Chimes

Hugh Jackman married Deborra-Lee Furness on April 11, 1996. The ceremony took place in a church outside of Melbourne, Australia. Jackman was 27 at the time, and Deborra was 40.
Children

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness intended to start a family soon after they married. However, the journey was not without difficulties. They experienced two miscarriages. “Because of her [Deb’s] age, we started [trying] straightaway when we were together,” Jackman said in a 2017 interview with People. We suffered, had a couple of losses, and had [in vitro fertilization] – it was not easy. It was obviously painful, especially for Deb. ‘We were always going to adopt — let’s just adopt now,’ I told her.
Oscar was adopted by Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness in 2000. They adopted their daughter Ava five years later.
27th Wedding Anniversary

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in New York City earlier this year in April. “I love you Deb,” Jackman wrote beside a selfie of himself and his wife. Our 27th wedding anniversary is today. 27 YEARS!! I adore you to pieces. We’ve built a lovely family together. And then there’s life. Your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty are a wonderful gift to me. “I adore you from the bottom of my heart.”
