Loki Season 2 Trailer
A New Loki ?
Season 2 of Loki promises to continue exploring the theme of time and is expected to deliver more big revelations for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first season introduced Kang the Conqueror and an alternate version of Loki named Sylvie, captivating fans with its fresh narrative. Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki has been a highlight of the MCU, making the character a fan favorite and showcasing a compelling redemption arc.
The debut of Loki’s own series was eagerly awaited by fans, and it received widespread acclaim upon its release in 2021. The show’s success was bolstered by its star-studded cast, including Owen Wilson as Morbius. Now, with Disney+ having an abundance of Marvel content, the second season faces a different landscape. Despite the increased competition, fans are hopeful that Season 2 will leave a similar impact as its predecessor.
Cast of Loki Season 2
In Marvel Studios’ D23 footage, eight MCU characters were confirmed to return for Loki Season 2, and Kevin Feige announced in May 2022 that the “whole cast” of the first season would be back. This means viewers can expect to see more of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, and Eugene Cordero as Casey/Hunter K-5E. Additionally, Jonathan Majors could reprise his role as Kang the Conqueror, possibly as a variant of He Who Remains.

Loki Season 2 will introduce new faces to the MCU as well. Rafael Casal’s “important role” was officially announced in July, while Ke Huy Quan’s casting as a Time Variance Authority archivist, seen in the teaser trailer, was confirmed in September. Kate Dickie (known for her role in Game of Thrones) will also appear in an unspecified role, speculated to be that of a villain.
The series is expected to play a crucial role in establishing the Marvel Multiverse, which opens up the possibility for other Marvel characters to feature in the show or their variants to appear, reinforcing the interconnected nature of the multiverse concept.
Plot of Loki Season 2
In the Season 1 finale of Loki, the choices made by Loki and Sylvie led to the collapse of the Sacred Timeline, resulting in the emergence of a multiverse with numerous branching realities. He Who Remains, portrayed by Jonathan Majors, was killed by Sylvie as she sought revenge for the suffering she endured. This event caused significant consequences as 63 new branches appeared immediately in the timeline, leading to chaos and uncertainty in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In Season 2, the focus is expected to center on the “war for the soul of the TVA,” as Tom Hiddleston has teased. Loki finds himself in an alternate reality version of the Time Variance Authority, where no one recognizes him. Helping this alternate TVA become functional again will likely be a challenging task for Loki. The fate of the TVA personnel, who were all pulled from their original timelines and had their memories erased, is also left unresolved and will likely be explored further.
Moreover, Owen Wilson’s character, Mobius, will have a deeper exploration of his story in Season 2. It is possible that viewers will learn more about his life before joining the TVA, shedding light on his character’s background and motivations.
With the introduction of the multiverse, Season 2 of Loki is set to delve into complex and intriguing narratives, exploring the consequences of the characters’ actions and the implications for the future of the MCU.
